Being an Indie Author certainly has its priviledges, and those of us who choose this route do so because we want the control over our works.
The downside is that we must do all the work ourselves when it comes to marketing, ads, promoting, and those are no easy tasks.
Trying to fit writing new stories, editing the about to be published book, designing a cover, converting the document to be accepted by various sites, finding reviewers, staying active in several social sites, and connecting with other authors and bloggers is more than a full-time job. Add the marketing and promoting to that and, well, now you know why we run behind so much.
Less than $1,000 a year isn't enough to support us, but we publish our works because we are driven to write these stories, so it's depressing and hurtful when one of us finds out that a book has been pirated.
Tricia DrammehTricia Drammeh is the author being showcased on our blog tour today. I know Tricia personally, and I love her style of writing.
Blurb- Rowan achieves her greatest desire when she earns the part of Juliet in the school play, but it’s impossible to concentrate on her lines when her secret crush is cast as Romeo. Eddie is a fallen football hero and the subject of widespread gossip. Not only has he lost the respect of his peers, he’s also earned the open animosity of Rowan's father, the high school’s football coach. Eddie isn't the only one with a tarnished past—Rowan has secrets of her own. When the truth is revealed, will Rowan replace Eddie as the most hated student in school, or will Rowan and Eddie share the stage together?
